Today at St. Joseph Hospital Koforidua a workshop on GOOD CLINICAL PRACTICE started this morning. This workshop is organised by ISGlobal (Institut de Salut Global de Barcelona).

The facilitators of this workshop are  Dr Guillermo Martínez from ISGlobal Spain and  Mrs. Christina K.T. Attia from Monrovia.

The workshop is targeting thirty (30) health professionals in our four facilities in Ghana; St. John of God Clinic, Amrahia, St. Joseph Hospital Koforidua, St. John of God Hospital Asafo and St. John of God Clinic Osiekojokrom. The workshop will run from 7th – 9th February, 2017.

Deaconate Ordination of Br Jacob Ketchen in Nairobi


Saturday 17th September, 2016, the Hospitaller Family at St. Augustine Province of Africa was blessed to have Rev. Br Jacob Ketchen being promoted to ORDER OF DIACONATE by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Same-Tanzania Rt Rev. ROGATH KIMARY C.S.Sp.

This occasion took place at Tangaza University College Nairobi. They were 17 in total that were ordained from three different Religious Congregations.

Meeting of the Africa Regional Commission

metting_2016In line with the new vision of collegial animation desired by the LXVIII General Chapter of the Order, three delegations of brothers from the General Curia and the two Provincial entities in Africa held a closed door meeting from 29 to 30 July, 2013 in Accra to reflect on the creation of a Regional Commission of Africa with the aim to promoting a synergy of actions between the provinces of Africa according to the resolutions and priorities of the LXVIII General Chapter. At this meeting were present:

The Fifth African Regional Conference

africanregion3The 5th African Regional Conference, of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, celebrated under the team “ Living Hospitality Boldly and Hopefully”, started on 1st of February 2016 and schedule to end on the 5th of February 2016 at St. Richard Pampuri Interprovincial Novitiate, Agoe-Nyive, Lome-Togo. This Conference, presided over by the Superior General, Bro Jesus ETAYO, brings together participants from the General Curia, St. Augustine Province of Africa, St. Richard Pampuri Vice-Province( Benin-Togo) and Western European Province( representing the work of the Order in Malawi). Closure of the Canonical Visitation to Africa

canonical visitation 2015_2The Prior General, Brother Jesús Etayo, arrived in Accra on the morning of October 10, 2015 accompanied by the two General Councillors, Brothers Benigno and Pascal, and by the Secretary-General, Brother André. The Brothers were greeted by the Provincial, Brother Barthelémy, the district leaders and all the Brothers and Co-workers from the Provincial Curia community. The meeting was all and joyful, as is normal in Africa, to the music and rhythm of the dances and songs in honour of the guests. Continue reading

Canonical Visitation in Africa

He was accompanied by Brother Benigno Ramos, the third General Councillor responsible for the Pastoral Care of the Sick and Formation, together with Brother André Sène, the Secretary-General.
